Eri comes from the domesticated Samia ricini moth, native to Assam and the north-east. Unlike mulberry silk, the cocoon is not boiled — the moth is allowed to emerge naturally. What remains is spun by hand into a matte, breathable yarn. Three blends. One promise.

Ahimsa eri spun with long-staple Egyptian cotton. Lighter, more fluid, and more forgiving — the drape of pure silk without the sheen. Our most-loved blend for spring and summer.
Eri paired with fine merino for winter weight without the itch. Cloud-soft against skin, with the natural thermal regulation of ahimsa silk. Made for cooler months.
The Collection
The Collection
In the hills of Assam, the eri moth is allowed to complete its cycle — to eat, to spin, and to emerge — before the empty cocoon is gathered. What some silks boil, eri lets go.
The soft cocoon is opened by hand, sorted, and spun on the takli — never reeled. It is then handwoven on the pit-loom into a cloth with a matte, textured finish that softens with every wash. From cocoon to loom, no life is taken.
