Weight by function
Reading throw (200–350 gsm) — light, warm enough for reading.
Sofa throw (350–500 gsm) — classic drape. Stays put on leather.
Statement throw (500–800 gsm) — showpiece for winter nights.
Colour: the rule of contrast
Throw should be one step darker or lighter than the sofa. Same-tone throws look flat.

How to drape
Relaxed — fold lengthwise, one end across a sofa arm at 30–45°.
Corner fold — fold into a quarter, place on the back corner.
Full drape — unfold, lay across the back with equal drape.
Avoid
- Perfect square-fold on the ottoman
- Bunched-up ball (reads unloved)
- Multiple throws layered aggressively

Living room
150 × 200 cm mid-weight, colour contrasting the sofa. Grade A or AA (not AAA — too delicate for daily use).
Reading chair / snug
130 × 170 cm, warmer tone — camel, wine, forest.
