Men buy cashmere differently. Fewer pieces, kept longer, worn to the last thread. That longevity puts more weight on the initial choice.
The workhorse: the travel scarf
200 × 30 cm scarf in Grade A or AA at 150–180 gsm. Colours that never date: charcoal, navy, camel, moss, oatmeal.
The under-bought piece: the throw
130 × 180 cm cashmere throw at 400–600 gsm. Grey, undyed cream and dark navy are workhorse colours.
Grade for mens use
Grade AAA is astonishingly soft but delicate. For a scarf worn five days a week for ten years, Grade AA is the intelligent choice — denser plying, better abrasion resistance, still elegant, 30% less expensive.
- Grade A — everyday. Ideal first scarf or gift.
- Grade AA — recommended default. Silkier hand, still robust.
- Grade AAA — extraordinary against skin. Best for evening.
Colour: four that always work
- Deep Charcoal — works with black, navy, brown.
- Camel — universally flattering.
- Ink Navy — dressier than charcoal.
- Moss / Forest Green — the quiet outlier that lifts an outfit.
